These Abercrombie shorts are definitely not denim and they have a great feel and look to them. And no, for all you worriers, they're not as short as they appear to be. ;) |

Ditching Denim
Denim is an essential item during every season. As much as I love it and need it, it's ordinary. Why don't we switch things up? Just substituting denim out for a different material can make all the difference. Let's face it, when we're shopping for pants or shopping for shorts our brains automatically think to look for denim. Hence, everybody wears denim pretty much all of the time. Let's change that story and bring out some eccentric flare. I was in desperate need of new shorts this summer and when I went into Abercrombie,I'll admit, I started looking at their denim shorts. Then, something caught my eye. A pair of navy, suede shorts. Well, personally I had a lot of shirts to match this particular color but the point is, I found something new and exciting instead of denim that serves as the same purpose! I could feel eyes on me as I wore them at a local restaurant. I also noticed the same thing when my friend wore the same pair. Navy is the same color as some denim shorts but the feel of wearing suede shorts gives you that classy look and feel. It could make a simple v-neck look stunning. I highly suggest trying this new style out, it's a break from the normal routine and it's great for summer. It'll make you feel classy and stylish and it's a totally breath taking summer outfit.

Brighter Is Better
Bathing suits are one of the most worn articles of clothing during the summer. As we know, it's hard choosing one that looks good. Well here's a little tip: brighter is better! Choosing bathing suits with colors like baby blue, orange, yellow, pink, or lime green for example, are guaranteed to look good on any body. Whether your super skinny or have a filled in figure, bright colors give you that pop that is priceless. I found a neon pink and orange bikini from Aerospotle that gives a total wow look. Another bathing suit that I own that I bought from Burlington is completed with gold, red, yellow, blue and green. Something with a color scheme like this is sure to have someone's eyes go 'Woah!', no matter what size you are. From bikini babes to one piece cover-uppers, bright colors do the trick. And spice up your ordinary bathing suit with something that compliments you and has something unique about it. Ditch the ordinary one piece for a one piece with ruffles for example! No matter how you feel, choosing a better colored bathing suit or even better, a brightly colored bathing suit with a unique twist, will make you feel good and look good and all of your bathing suit qualms will have vanished into thin air.

Simply Adorable
During the time off of school, people don't want to be taring apart their closets looking for a cute outfit. Therefore, summer outfits consist of denim shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, and athletic shorts. However, what people don't realize is that just pulling a fashion tank top out of your closet can make a huge difference in your outfit. Don't get me wrong, regular tanks and denim shorts are great for the beach but when let's say going to the mall or a friend's house, it's not really eye catching or fashionable. When I'm not going to the beach or running around, I don't want to wear just a t-shirt and shorts but I didn't want to look like I spent an hour picking out everything to the last earring. So I found an effortless outfit that looks amazing. All you have to do is pull out a fashion tank top! As you may have noticed during spring, it's time to pull out your floral patterns. I took a simple floral fashion tank from Aeropostle and matched it with just a simple pair of shorts from Target. If you have a tank top like this, that can go with light or dark washed jeans, then you scored a perfect outfit. It looks comfily chic and it doesn't take a while to match with a pair of shorts. Summer vacation is a time to hang back and relax and just switching your shirt to something a little bit more fashionable can make all the difference in two seconds. I recommend trying this technique and you'll look and feel better while doing all the things your summer has planned for you.

Summer Sandals
Summer is the season of the open toed shoe. But with all the bumming out at the beach during this time of the year, it seems like flip flops are the only open toed shoe option. Hello? Are we forgetting about sandals? Sandals are those shoes you can simply find anywhere and can complete any summery outfit. They're a perfect way to show off tan legs while sporting shorts and gladiators (sandals with a zipper back) go perfectly with jeans for those cool nights by the shore. It's that shoe that really screams summer but in a way that's trendier than the casual flip flop. The thing is, people search at expensive places to find a perfect sandal when they're closer than you think. My oldest pair I got last spring just at Payless, believe it or not. It's a bronze gladiator that works especially well with my jeans. Now, my newest pair I bought this spring and they're Minnitonka. For those unfamiliar with the brand it's known to be expensive. However, I found them at Bob's for only $35! These sandals have three little tassels and I love wearing them with my capris and shorts. They pull out that high-end side even though it didn't have the cost of high-end shoes, which is a great deal considering these shoes are adorable and unbelievably trendy. Sandals are that perfect, pull-togehter shoe and fancier flip slops (you know, not the beachy type) are also a great thing to have. But, nothing has that same effect as sandals.

Crop Tops and Short Shorts
Now that school is out and summer is here we can finally start wearing those too-short-for-school shorts. And for a chic look to go with my much loved shorts, I love to sport a crop top on top. However, I personally think short crop tops aren't the best and therefore, don't own any. So, I picked up a crop top on the longer side from, again, Aeropostle. These tops are enough to cover up to just below your belly button and whether you wear them with low-rise or high-rise shorts, it looks unbelievably trendy. I suggest wearing something like this down to the shore, where you don't need a tank top to cover up, it's the beach after all! This new look will attract eyes down by the beach! It's the ideal summer look.

Summer Time Layers
Let's be honest, layering is not something we normally consider during the heat of the summer. It wouldn't make sense, you would get hot and sweaty! Well, what if we layer tank tops? I have a baby doll- spaghetti strap, flower printed tank top from Aeropostle. You know, the perfect tank top you can wear as a tube top or a tank! To create a completely different look, I took off the optional straps, yes, making it a tube top. Here's where the flare comes in. All I did was add an orange tank top that matched the color scheme underneath it. You know, just your regular two-fingered tank top. Now the look has changed completely and uniquely. The best part: it keeps you cool and goes with many different hairstyles which of course is something we all go frantic about! So have fun and show off the new looks you can't wear in school! And, of course, when picking out your baby-doll or flowy tube top to go on top, make sure it's bright and fun, just like summer!

Bringing Out the Best
How many of you, when you think of jeans, just pull on your classic blue jeans or capris? I'll admit, I still do. But after a while, you start to notice you're wearing blue everyday, leaving the colors of Spring out of your closet. To spice up the color of my capris, I picked up a pair of pink capris, part of the Jessica Simpson line at Macy's. To match up with my new, fun, pants I bought a matching tank top that flows, has zig-zags and a flare, having one half of the back not solid but connected with a single wooden circle, a design from Epic Threads, which I also got from Macy's. To celebrate new weather, fashion tanks and colorful capris are the way to look casually amazing! If you're that kind of girl who is the most comfortable in capris during Spring, then spice up the look with a new color to celebrate Spring! And find a colorful fashion tank to match, because Spring is all about bringing out the colors and leaving your dark wintry ones behind.

Pretty Patterns and Cool Colors
With the warm weather finally here for good, it's time to break out the spring colors. Pack away your blacks, reds, and jeans and bring out your blues, yellows, pinks and dresses! What is the best way to feel fresh and pretty during the most beautiful season? Sundresses! And what goes best with that perfect casual dress? The perfect, vibrant, spring time color scheme to go with it! At my local Aeropostle, I found a light blue, pink, and yellow sundress for only $15! It's the kind of dress that is certain to make you feel pretty, being tight on the top and flowing from the mid-section down. If you want to stun the others then this is the way to go. Whether your putting on a cardigan or going strapless, the perfect dress and colors are sure to catch someone's eye. So if you want to take a break from capris and jeans, then a simple sundress is a nice little twist. Here's the sundress I bought from Aeropostle:

Spring Season Shoes
How many of you realized that sundresses and wedges or capris and wedges are in this season? Even though large heeled wedges are more for women, us teens (and tweens) can still rock one-inch wedges. Now, I think we are all familiar with Steve Madden, the man who gave us stunning shoes and to-die-for handbags. If you know that designer brand then you know the prices that come with it. You know, like $89.95 for a pair of the Wyliee wedges for example. I don't think most of us can afford that on our own at this age. Anyway, browsing at Marshalls, I found a pair of one-inch Steve Madden white, peep toe wedges for only $12! Even though it was on clearance being the last pair left it originally would be $19.95 which is a huge difference from directly buying the shoe on Steve Madden's website! Shopping at discounted stores for designer brands can make all the difference for your wallet and still have you looking amazing, and now I have shoes to go with my springy sundress.
