Embracing your own "Summer"

Summer is a time where all the rules simply seem to vanish. Nights get longer, mornings get shorter, and outfits are no longer restricted by dress codes. The question is, how to do still look cool in all this heat? This summer, some old trends have made their way back to the top. Converse and Vans are more in style than every right now- so girls (and even boys) don't be afraid to wear your favorite pair (anywhere!). Whether you choose those shoes or go for something more simple, pair it with high waisted shorts- jean or chiffon. Don't get me wrong, the low waists still find their way in through the fashion crowd however high waisted shorts have really been a hit this summer and you'll find many stores are carrying tops designed to be paired with high waisted bottoms! (I suggest grabbing a pair of acid washes or a solid black). On the subject of tops, don't be afraid to grab a simple crop top for a party or night out. When you're going to the beach or just relaxing in the sun pick up a tank with a cute saying or picture on it- remember vintage is always in style.
Summer is a break from school- not fashion! These tips will get you all ready for summer concerts, parties, and well just lazy summer days!

Stay Warm in the Winter

It's common to see old styles from the 80's and 90's in the modern world. However, they're comeback comes with a little altering. Girls now walk around with the cropped sweaters and high waisted jeans except the hair happens to be more sleek and they're most commonly found with boots on rather Keds or sneakers. One style that's being seen more commonly worn is high socks or leg warmers tucked into boots.
Even though it may sound outdated and stupid, they keep you surprisingly warm and look good with almost any top. Wear them with leggings and maybe a sweater, or a sweatshirt on cold days or with a nice jacket if you're walking around the city. They even go with long sleeve tees. You can choose anything between really thing socks coming just below your knee to athletic socks when you run out of regular socks to wear. This style, however, looks best with tall Uggs (please no short ones!), leather boots, or of course, combat boots! Keep this style in mind as you struggle to stay warm on this chilly winter!

School Start Offs

Everyone wants to start off on the right foot at school, no? We don't just want to look good for the first day but everyday. Here's 5 tips on what to get in stock for school this year

1) STUDS STUDS STUDS! Studs on tank tops. studs on leather jackets, studs on boots- they're everywhere and they're one of the biggest trends! It puts and edgy feel to your look!

2) FUNKY LEGGINGS! Whether they're galaxy, tribal, or really out there with the Little Mermaid (yes they have those) on your leggings, pick up a pair! It makes you seem bold and it's eye popping- something everyone can pull of!

3) BIG SWEATER! As the weather gets colder, stock up on big, comfy sweaters. No, it doesn't hide your body underneath! If you tuck in a section of the front of the sweater, pulling it out a little like you would with a t-shirt, it still shows a little of you on the top (hehe) and it looks great with jeans and boots so you're comfy!

4) LEATHER! Leather jackets, leather boots, leather leather leather. Too assist with the studs, leather also gives an edgier look or it can give you a more expensive look, even though it's really not!

5) HIGH WASTES! High wasted shorts for the fall or jeans for all year round are a nice switch up to the usual look, and there's so much in stores to go with it- it's perfect!

Follow these tips and look fabulous this school year!

School Sneak Peaks

As the summer slowly starts to wind down, all girls are burdened with the worst of qualms: what do I wear to school?! We want to make sure to start off the year right, choose the right crowds, make tons of friends, be that girl everyone looks up to. And of course, we want something that will last the school year, not some shirt you think is "adorbs" until you find it in the spring and gag at the though of wearing it in public. This year, you can put "spikes" or "rhinestones" on your list. No these aren't childish rhinestones you can put on a handbag you made. These are normally found in gold or silver, forming the shape of a pyramid from the top view and add a little punk to your style. Again, don't get me wrong, punk is not necessarily goth but it gives it a little of a darker side and they're really a hit right now! You can find them almost anywhere and you know it's that one thing every girl must have so put them on the list! You'll look amazing

Spruce Up Your Style

That one night in town with your girls or a family dinner on the boardwalk is something we all look forward to during summer. Sometimes, denim and a cute top just don't feel right though. How do you know what's the perfect fit then? Play up your style by adding a cute dress to the mix, whether it's a flowing black dress, a lacy sundress, or some tribal pattern. Pair it up with your favorite black or white cross-body purse and some adorable wedges or sandals! Dresses show a stylish, pretty side to a girl, adding a high end feel to the outfit. Style your hair in a side braid or blow it straight for a complete Californian look that every girl dreams of, while still staying around your home! You'll feel like a million bucks and everyone you pass will be sure to notice you, in a good way of course!
This simple dress has a tribal pattern, very in style
and a nice matching belt. Perfect for a night out.

Summer Must Haves

What's "the look" for this summer? You know, the thing everyone is wearing, the "must have"? I'll tell you, it's shorts and a scoop neck. Now, now, let's not get too excited- it's not that simple. We're not talking any shorts and scoop necks. I'm talking high wasted shorts-in any color- (highly recommended the ones with three buttons going down in two columns in the middle area) and a cropped scoop neck, so only a sliver of your mid section is revealed. Keep in mind the shirt is tight, not any crop top. Complete your outfit with matching Keds or Vans Off the Walls! And as a bonus, tie a section of your hair back fastened with a bow, a new trend that's continuing to blossom! Enjoy this great look that even the celebrities are showing!

Put Some Chic in Your Step!

You can't go wrong with denim shorts during summer, whether it's a tank and some high waists or low waisted and a tee! However, on those nights along the pier going to a semi-fancy restaurant, you're mind tells you that you want to change it up! Trade in a normal shirt for a denim vest and pair it with a matching blue or pink skirt so when the ocean breeze hits you it gives just the right amount of flow to your style! Plus, they pair together like peanut butter and jelly! Try tying your hair up with a bow and pairing it up with some Keds or Vans Off the Wall for the perfect outfit!
